How to edit races & events

This article explains how to edit races and events in MySail.

To edit event details, go to the My Schedule page, find the event you want to edit, and click ‘Manage Event.’ This brings up the event's management page that shows current event and crew details.

(You can only edit events that you have created).

Here you have two choices - Edit Event or Edit Series.

Clicking either of these buttons will bring you to a page that looks very similar to the page you used to create the event.

Editing an Event

In the Edit Event page, you can only update details that are specific to that event, including:

  • Event name
  • Type of event
  • Location
  • Crew notes
  • Date
  • Meeting time
  • Start time

If this event was created by selecting a race or regatta entered by a club, some of these fields are managed centrally and cannot be changed. If you see an error with one of these fields, you can email us to request an update.

The fields you cannot update are:

  • Event name
  • Type of event
  • Date
  • Start time

If you see an error with one of these fields, you can email us to request an update.

Editing a Series

In the Edit Series page, you can only update details relevant to the entire series, including:

  • Race organiser
  • Event name
  • Type of event
  • Location
  • Meeting times
  • Start times

You can also add new event dates to an existing series in this page.

If this series was created by selecting one entered by a club, some of these fields are managed centrally and cannot be changed. If you see an error with one of these fields, you can email us to request an update.

The fields you cannot update are:

  • Race organiser
  • Series name
  • Type of event
  • Start times
  • Dates

Any changes you make in this page will be applied to ALL events in the series.

Notifications to crew

If you change an event date you will need to write a short update to explain the change - this is sent to all invited crew so they can update their availability as required.
